Last October the PAH (Platform for Mortgage Victims, by its Spanish acronym) went to New York City, where we participated in sessions about evictions and gentrification, jointly with 15 collectives from the USA and Europe, such as Habitat (Lisbon, Portugal), Encounter (Athens, Greece), Occupy Our Homes (Atlanta, GA, USA) and others.
We profited from the opportunity to learn about and interchange response and organization mechanisms to defend the right to housing.
You can find the summary here: http://www.rosalux-nyc.org/right-to-the-city-transatlantic-roundtable-2/
We also presented the documentary “7 days in PAH Barcelone” with the assistance of Marea Granate-NY (Maroon Tide – collective of Spanish émigrés aiming to fight the causes of the economic downturn which forced them to emigrate and expose those responsible for it) in 16Beaver’s premises in Wall Street. We took the opportunity to answer questions about the PAH.
